 The Site

The photo gallery has now been arranged as a virtual tour of the garden, mostly seen at the height of summer. We start our tour at the door out to the garden...

View from back door This is the view that greets you at the top of the steps leading down from the back door. The Blue Border dominates this photo.
View from back door A wider angle shot taken from the same view point.
Terrace seen from back door Looking to the right, you can view the greenhouse and down to the terrace, paved in limestone.
The terrace Descending to the terrace, you will find the main collection of summer bedding. The sheltered, sunny position allows many 'tender' plants to thrive here.
Sphinxes guarding terrace Looking away from the house, you see the main pool and highest waterfall.
Sphinx A pair of sphinxes guard the terrace.

Glasshouse from terrace And further to the right again, the glasshouse is revealed.
Red Border from Terrace On the left, the red border blazes. This is where we will begin our circuit of the garden
Steps up from terrace Firstly, we climb the steps and turn to follow the path through the red border...
